Central Control Installer

The Rain Bird Factory Trained Central Control Installer Workshop is intended for professional installers with a strong working knowledge of central control irrigation systems to fine tune their skills and standardize the installation process. Each day of the course includes hands-on activities that address each aspect of installing central control system components either in a commercial or golf application. The workshop is a combination of classroom and field instruction including a series of practical student demonstrations designed to assess each student’s installation ability. All aspects of the installation process will be covered from the initial site assessment to maintenance test and sign-off. Upon successful completion of the course, the student will have demonstrated the skills necessary to complete a central control system installation.

Learning Objectives


Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Install and commission a Rain Bird Central Control system including Central Control Computer, Central Control Interface, Satellite Controller and applicable sensors.

2. Properly install and measure the grounding system for all applicable components of a Rain Bird Central Control system.

3. Troubleshoot discrepancies most commonly found on a Rain Bird Central Control system.

4. Properly commission the installation of a Rain Bird Central Control system.

Suggested Prerequisites


  • The participant should have working knowledge of a landscape irrigation system including sprinkler, valve, and controller installation. This course also requires that the participant have a working knowledge of the Windows 7, 8 or 10 computer operating systems.
