Golf Irrigation Technician
This hands-on class is ideal for any golf course irrigation professional that wants a better understanding of the installation, maintenance and repair of efficient golf course irrigation systems. In-class activities will present each major component of the golf irrigation system, including operation and troubleshooting of each part. Irrigation system components covered will include pumps, valves, valve-in-head rotors, and weather stations. Students will also discuss irrigation electrical system operation, and surge suppression topics.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
1. Explain the layout of components in Rain Bird Golf Irrigation Systems
2. Identify Types of pumps commonly used in Rain Bird Golf Pump Stations
3. Test common irrigation system electrical components
4. Properly splice sprinkler wire and Maxi cable
5. Identify common grounding and surge protection components
6. Troubleshoot and repair common valve failure conditions
7. Troubleshoot and repair common rotor failure conditions
8. Perform routine maintenance operations on a Rain Bird weather station
